This day was pure awesomeness… full of random shit happening all throughout the day of course….but none the less …it was awesome.

Haley was such a good sport…and she actually was enjoying watching how we worked and being a part of  all of our randomness…I’m starting to realize most people love our gorilla style shooting…I find that it breaks down these walls we sometimes put up when shooting for “magazines” and doing “interviews”. We ALL have fun and we get to capture real, unfiltered moments.

Haley was in L.A. visiting from Arkansas when we did the shoot. She didn’t have her guitar with her…So I let her use Mary Jayne lol …which is my guitar. Early that day we realized that my guitar strings were shit so we tried to replace them ourselves. That’s when we realized that we kinda sucked at replacing guitar strings so we had to take a trip to the Guitar Center on Sunset Blvd to have them replaced professionally. That in itself was a random ass adventure lol.

Once we got the strings fixed we came back to The Crockpot Headquarters (which is my house) …I did her make up…and we went off into the streets looking for inspiration. We were all walking down the street looking for a place to shoot and we spotted this brown couch that had been thrown out on the sidewalk…and of course we decided to drag it in the middle of the street and shoot!!! Traffic and all… it was hilarious…and quite inspiring to all of us how quickly we made something out of nothing.

Haley did an acoustic version of Cyndi Lauper’s Time after Time. Juriel filmed it… and I just watched and smiled…. oh and looked out for traffic from time to time. It was a small little gang of us all outside …right on Beachwood…taking over the streets…having a blast in the middle of the day.  It was fun, Haley sounded beautiful, and Mary Jayne didn’t sound too shabby herself. After we filmed the cover we went back into the house to do Haley’s 27 Questions interview!!! You guys have to make sure you go check those two videos out because they are also awesome!! lol

I’m enjoying this process for sure…. we may not have a blue print… but something beautiful happens every single time I do one of these shoots and interviews and I’m inspired to do more!!

Shine Light

The magazine is a brand that believes WE should be the change we wish to see in the world... So instead of complaining we wanted to get innovative and take action! Shift the narrative and influence culture in a special way. "The idea was to create a rabbit hole of inspiration... from people, things, quotes, music, places, food, stories, art, traveling, like literally all of the things that have touched my heart and brought me peace in someway I want to share. All of the people who have inspired me... I want to feature them.. I want the world to see and know what I know. I guess you could say it's My Perspective. It's my taste in all things... It's a fresh voice...it's a genuine voice...it's a revolutionary voice. I care...and I want to build, and inspire people to spark the light in each other. This site is rooted in love. I will be curating the content with other like minded individuals. We are about to create our OWN media...and promote culture in a way we always say it would be "in a perfect world." We are For the People!! We are going to educate, promote, partner, uplift, build, and support each other as often as we can. We are going to shift culture in a refreshing beautiful way, but we are gonna do things our way. We believe in talent and substance over popularity... We ARE the new tastemakers... We have a whole world of inspiration at our fingertips and new ways of thinking to introduce to ppl... " -Melanesia Hunter
